Is Baxter The Right Man? Reader’s Voice

Default

Bafana Bafana coaches of  the past failed to restore the national team to its glory days, much like that of the 1996 squad that won the African Cup of Nations tournament on home soil.

Since the departure of Carlos Alberto Parreira, we have been saying we are reinforcing a compatible squad that will compete for major honours.

Ex Bafana coach, Ephraim Shakes Mashaba made a valiant effort in that regard but he was unfortunately removed from the post.

Current mentor Stuart Baxter has promised the supporters that he will find an accurate rhythm of playing that will light up the current squad, however, that is yet to materialise.

Do you think Baxter is the right coach to qualify us to next year’s Orange Africa cup of Nations?

@PtWalekhosi Yes I agree with u this players know football but what this European coaches try to teach them they don't understand it if u can look at brazil they always play their football en they take their own coaches not coaches from Europe this Europeans think they know football cos they study it here and in brazil football is culture so they don't understand that that why they tell us about transition football something our players will never understand let the boys play football the way they know how not this European style

South Africa is not a footballing nation, with all the resources we have what have we achieved in the last 15 years? we can blame the coach even if klopp or pep were brought here I doubt we would win anything, yes Baxter's selection is shocking but we not up there in terms of producing quality players

No he's not. But I can't blame him. He inherited a team that was passing for European style of playing. Baxter was right when he said the players were not true to themselves, even though he didn't know exactly what he was referring to. Our players are being converted into European robots and puppets. At Santos, they tried to turn Pele into what he was not. They failed, and he became the best in the world by staying true to his culture of football. South Africans must stand up and demand adherence to our football culture. We have allowed ourselves to be captured, that anything European is better bcos it has a white man behind it. EFF must look into this, seriously. Why are we loosing our identity in favour of foreign ideologies? Is being African so wrong that we can't even think in our own languages, everything is done the English way?

I strongly followed Buxters abilities on coaching. The truth is,he is a very good coach, but he is not good for our national team. All his coaching life never involved in any national team.He can take five years with BAFANA,he will never win even a glass of water.#UP THE BUCS.

You can bring Sir Alex Ferguson to coach Bafana Bafana, he will never get the results with the attitude of the players we have in the country and this naturalization of foreign players is also killing our country's football

Well for Baxter I think I still have hope but unfortunately he's working with a bunch of lazy overrated players, until our players understand that they are athletes nd need to take serious their jobs nothing will change. Our boys are lazy they can't trap or pass accurately and we think they will make magic. For the past 5 years who in the PSL has improved apart from Khune ubani omunye no one
