How Should Cup Final Venues Be Decided? Reader’s Voice

Default

Once again, yet another final will be played in Durban, after it was announced that the Moses Mabhida Stadium will host the MTN8 final later this month.

In my opinion, the fans voices are not heard. Fans want to see a cup final being played elsewhere and not just in Durban.

To solve this problem, the venue should be decided before the competition and each province should be given a chance to host it. Spread the football to each province every year and allow everyone the privilege of watching quality football.

What are your thoughts regarding this?

It is said that SAFA was considering the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium but the stadium was unavailable as the Springboks will be playing Wallabies in the same venue next week and The Southern Kings are using the same venue for their rugby fixtures, which leaves them with the Peter Mokaba,Mbombela and Royal Bafokeng stadium..I think Limpopo deserves a cup final their football fans always show up in huge numbers in their teams' respective fixtures..a cup final there would generate huge income for MTN instead of going to Durban and having to give away some of the finals match tickets for free

When everything was happening in Jozi, nobody had anything to say it was okay, but now it's Durban, people from Jozi are not benefiting anymore they start with this nonsense. Durban must host if they have to host... Jealous people must stay away from football

No wonder our football is so poor.Safa nd Psl are thinking like headless chickens. Why keep on playing finals at one venue.what about other built stadium.Even free state people can fill stadium fr that finale.bt No only one venue is most sweetable

It is not Durban's duty to teach other cities how to bid for cup finals or big games. There is a bidding process in place so if other cities are sleeping its not Durban's fault.

U r correct the venue for the final should have either been Cape Town or Pretoria as the finalists come from these cities it's unfair that KZN enjoys the privilege of hosting cup finals despite its teams failing to reach a mere quarters/semis of those respective cups.
