The stage has been set for a showdown between new kids on the block, Cape Town City, and Supersport United at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban. Excitement is mounting in both the administrative capital, Tshwane, and the legislative capital, Cape Town, in anticipation of the MTN cup final on Sunday where emotions are likely to run high.
Though South Africa has witnessed it's own fare share of sideline antics by agitated coaches in the past, new Cape Town City gaffer has seemingly taken it a step further. Video footage from the recently played Cape Town derby seems to suggest he was caught spitting venom directed at Siyabonga Nhlapo of Ajax Cape Town. That was after the Ajax defender had roughed up Teko Modise who had used sleek trickery to evade the ensuing defender.
South Africa's most decorated player of our time has however denied using an expletive common in the Cape Flats, claiming that he has instead said to the said player "you mustn't push". We will give our favourite 'Benni in the 18 area' benefit of the doubt, but Supersport players must be warned. Whatever happens on the day they should be sure not to upset Benni if they don't want anyone of them to be angrily told "you mustn't push".
