Baxter Needs The Psychologist More Than Our Players – Reader’s Voice
Our hopes to qualify for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia went up in smoke as supporters came out in numbers to show support for our national team.
Unfortunately, our players could not live up to the expectations. They were beaten by a team that knows how to punish the opponents and capitalised on mistakes.
Baxter again made many blunders from his starting line-up to substitutions. How can a coach go into such a crucial encounter without fielding at least one natural striker like Ndlovu and have him surrounded by Tau, Dolly and Zwane for supply?
It was disappointing to see how Bafana players gave too much respect to Mane. I will always say Furman is not Bafana material. He’s always running around as if he's making an impact while all he does is give away silly fouls and Hlanti finds it difficult to get back after overlapping.
Baxter did not know whether Jali was eligible to play or not and all of a sudden Jali was a substitute. Any good coach would’ve gone for Dolly and Mahlambi to run at the opposition not Tshabalala and Grobler.
Baxter needs a psychologist more than our players to help him choose starting line-ups and make substitutions based on the quality that we have on the bench. He also needs to stop with favouritism.
Baxter is the main reason Bafana did not qualify because he is clueless and should resign.
