Another Coach Bites the Dust - Reader’s Voice

Chippa United confirmed the exit of coach Dan Malesela.

Malesela was sacked on Wednesday, following his team's 3-1 defeat to Baroka FC at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday.

The defeat was Chippa's second Premiership loss in three starts after falling to Orlando Pirates in their opening game. Their other result was a victory at home over AmaZulu before the international break.

As a result, Malesela said he was disappointed with the club's decision to terminate his services. He told reporters, "Yes I have been released. It did not come as a shock to me as I was expecting it.

"When you work here at this club you expect anything. I don’t think I’ll be back in Port Elizabeth again ever again, I don’t think I’ll do that."

The 52-year-old has endured a difficult relationship with the side's management during his time with the Chilli Boys.

Last season he was placed on 'special leave' before later being reinstated to help Chippa survive relegation.

I doubt there's a future at chippa united, you can't build a brand by choping coache's whenever it suits you.even rome was'nt build in one day, there's lack of longterm plans indeed at the club.chippa united was going places under den malesela's guidance based on a good understanding between him and players.it's pity that the chairmen mr mpengesi did'nt see that.i was puzzled by lukhanyo mzinzi's utterencies about den "dance"exit from the club.to me thats shows ungratefullness for someone who change the club to be what it is today including implementing a new philosophy of a tiki-taka football brand.
