Women are catching up rapidly !!!
Whilst listening to one of my favourite radio shows on the airwaves. The reaffirmation of the direction we as a country is going in terms of women's football is really looking good once again. The newly appointed coach instructor of instructors is like a modern day encyclopedia. Finally we have a female coaching instructor of note. Listening to her talk tactics and displaying her understanding of modern football. It excites me about what is to come should she start working and fulfilling her duties. Her expertise will see our coaches blossom and continue to get better. With this developing our players in the right way necessary. And shes from our own shores. Cheryl Botes has come a long way, since starting in 2005 with her CAF badges. She is now in a position to mentor and teach other coaches. Holding a CAF coaching instructors certificate, the future of female football will continue to improve. Its inspires me as a coach because I'm sure that shes being thru a lot. Firstly being female it probably takes twice as much effort to stay in the game. Competing against the status quo and not succumbing to the norm. Having to tear down those boundaries is something that takes patience and persistence. Constantly having to prove yourself to your male colleagues. Often thinking of quitting whilenyiu ahead. This pressure is real but she has overcome. This woman seems to be the one that will carry the mantle for all women in Africa.
