The transfer saga that has dragged on for years has finally come to an end and Sibusiso Vilakazi is now a Masandawana player.
The Brazilians paid top dollar and offered two quality players in exchange players to ensure that they secured the signature of the midfield ace - but where exactly will he play?
Vilakazi is a very versatile offensive player and has been used as a false nine, a striker as well as a number 10. But the problem for Vila is that Mamelodi Sundowns are blessed with, arguably, the most potent attacking trio in the PSL, Leonardo Castro, Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat.
They form part of the deadly trio known as CBD and they wreaked havoc last season, terrorising defences with dazzling and, quite frankly, breathtaking passages of play. The problem for Pitso is who does he drop for Vilakazi?
The amount of money Sundowns paid for him suggests that he won’t be benched and he will most likely be a starter. But where does Vila fit in? Billiat is rumoured to near the end of his PSL career, because clubs overseas are ready to pounce. Dolly's brilliant Olympic campaign means he too could easily be snapped up by an overseas club. Perhaps Pitso sees Vila as a striker to ease the burden on Castro… Whatever the case may be, it will be very interesting to see where Pitso plays Vila.
Where do you think Vila will play at Sundowns?
