The beautiful game is more pretier with numbers
Goal shy tale is a well documented story in the country but it seems like it is becoming a thing of the past with strikers in the elite league having found their scoring boots and busting nets for fun this season.
In a lucrative league like the Premier Soccer League it is embarrassing to note that- only five strikers have managed to score twenty plus goals since the league's inception in 1996/97 season. Three of those strikers who boasts such records having done so in the past 34-game season before the teams were trimmed into the current 30-game season. Collins Mbesuma and Siyabonga Nomvethe are the only two strikers who have netted twenty or more goals in the current format.
Records are there to be broken and goal poachers are tasked to break historical records. With a round of six being completed this weekend scoring charts looks promising. Bradley Grobler is leading the charts with five goals to his name- the Supersport United striker can score twenty or more if he stays out of his team's casualty ward. Goalkeepers should pick more balls behind themselves because that is what spectators cherish more.
Football is a game of numbers and zero is a favorite of no one. The beautiful game is prettier with more numbers. Score more than your opponent then you’ll come up tops.
