Sundowns not 'small boys' as Pitso claims
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane dubbed his side 'small boys' ahead of the crunch Caf Champions League encounter against Al Ahly.
The cynical adage has it that- It is best to keep distance from the big guys. Sundowns proved this adage wrong though- as they put the 'big boys' to the sword. Claiming a victory against a team of the century was a mountain to climb- but Bafana Ba Style- did so in some style. Giving Ahly their second heaviest defeat in this tournament.
Taking a five-nil lead to Cairo is enough to pave Sundowns' way into the semi-finals. Sundowns did their opposite number no favours and shown no respect to the most successful club in Africa. That was a very skilful and gutsy performance from the 2016 African intercontinental football kings.
Sundowns is now harbouring a more realistic ambition of conquering Africa again. With this kind of performance- Sundowns can beat anyone- standing on their way to success. Sometimes you don't have to be at your best to win games- but your opponents have to be at their worst. To be regarded as the best you ought to be the beat the best.
High five Masandawa!!!
