PSL DC is inconsistent
The Premier Soccer League Deciplinary Committee (DC) is inconsistent in their ruling.
Mamelodi Sundowns hopes of defending the PSL title couldn't be dented by the rule to dock them points of fielding an inillegible player. Sundowns has allegedly fielded Wayne Arendse who was not named in the eighteen man squad that faced another title contenders Bidvest Wits in September last year. Although the match commissioner had given a green light to Sundowns to use Arendse who came on as a substitute.
Law is a set of rules that need to be obeyed. Sundowns can be wrong to break the rules- but granting Wits points- aftet deducting some from The Brazilians would be unfair. The now defunct Platinum Stars has been docked points for breaking the rules but no team was afforded any point.
PSL DC needs to be consistent in their ruling because if not- that will be against FIFA's fair play. Docking points from culprits is fair but granting them to other teams is unfair. Every point counts at this stage of the season.
Wits shouldn't win the league through bonus points. Sundowns must be punished but not to anyone's gain.
