Pitso Mosimane compromising his great coaching legacy
Pitso Mosimane is one of the best coaches to ever grace South African Football. His coaching style has made Mamelodi Sundowns to be one of the best teams both in South Africa and Africa. He has won the PSL tittle 4 times, CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup winner, Nedbank Cup winner. It is evident that these statistics shows that Pitso is a serial winner, a champion and master tactician. But what is concerning right now is his behaviour and approach to other PSL teams who are currently outdoing his football tactics. He is off late moaning, complaining and blaming PSL officials for his short-comings.
PSL prosecutor has written to him and to account about his actions. In football great gaffers has shown characteristics of a winner which are humility, solid integrity, accountability and no excuses. Ego can be your downfall in football. For instance Sir Alex Ferguson remains one of the greatest manager in world football. With an impeccable record of 38 trophies, including 13 League titles, 5 FA Cups and 2 UEFA Champions League titles with Manchester United. Ferguson has always shown humility, respect and integrity towards opposition teams. Pitso is compromising the integrity of the PSL officials that can end up coercing officials to commit bad decisions. A classic example of officials being pressured is the goal that Nurkovic scored against Pirates in the Telkom quarterfinal which was onside but the linesman saw it differently.
I would be very pleased if coach Pitso can show sportsmanship and respect to counterparts. Coach Pitso remains one of the best and we appreciate his coaching.
