Impact Of The Press – Reader’s Voice

The global press is a platform that influences daily life.  I am of the opinion that positive stories should be published far more frequently than those laced with negative connotations, particularly within South African football.

This is no secret, scandals and half-truths sell and travel fast. I think it's time we support our own, to a greater degree and have our writers and journos, write about our footballers doing well.

For instance, why don't we report on that under 17 starlit, making his mark and touting him up, to be included within the national setup?

We've seen this before, with Shakes being an example to Coetzee and Jomo being an example to Benni.

The media must be cautious when reporting news outside the immediate game. We must be aware of how sportsmen and women in our country are covered.
