Chabangu in a sacred space
In the wake of 'resurrection'- pastor Alph Lukau of Allelua Ministries allegedly awakens a man from the dead- and his rituals left the entire country in awe.
There was something to cherish about resurrection though. Lerato Chabangu has resurrected his football career. Chabangu's career is undergoing a new lease of life.
Without using the biblical verse of dust to dust. Chabangu's career nearly went to dust- as it was developed from the dusty streets of Tembisa. 'Ace' as Chabangu is affectionately known- has had his picture making rounds on social media- late last year. Chabangu and liquids containing volumes of alcohol are apparently common denominators. After seeing Chabangu in the state he was on the picture- even his avid fans were sceptical about his revival.
With little hope of Chabangu making his way through the tunnel to the football turf again- ABC Motsepe League outfit Babirwa Football Club- gave 'Ace' a second chance to revive his career. Just to tweak an old adage- there is a light at the end of the tunnel- hopefully Chabangu's dark side at the other end of the tunnel will give upcoming footballers a lesson.
Fortunately 'Ace' has lived to tell a tale of- having earned a fat salary to- having nothing. The most valuable lesson to learn from 'Ace' is how to handle fame and stardom. Fame has pulled down a lot of football stars like the Dr Newton's law of gravity. A lot has been said about stars dying poor after misusing their big earnings
