The transfer window is just over three months away and Soccer Laduma takes a look at at least 10 defenders who are being linked with moves elsewhere.
As reported in the past weeks by the Siya crew, Orlando Pirates have been keeping a close eye on Mkhize at Cape Town City, with the right-back currently having arguably the best season of his professional football career. Although City will not be keen on losing their team captain’s services, it remains to be seen whether the Bucs will intensify their interest in the player.
The versatile defender has been on the radar of both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns and according to Siya sources, has also attracted interest from abroad.
It was reported in November last year that both SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits were keeping a close eye on Fielies, although it remains to be seen whether they will revisit their interest in the player in the upcoming transfer window.
According to Siya sources, Pirates have reignited their interest in the Maritzburg United centre-back, with the source adding that Fadlu Davids could possibly play a role in trying to persuade the 24-year-old to come on board.
Caio Marcelo, Justice Chabalala and Thabo Matlaba:
Marcelo has been linked with a loan move away from Pirates in the upcoming transfer window, while Chabalala and Matlaba have fallen out of favour at the club and could possibly be heading out the exit door at the end of the season.
According to Siya sources, Chiefs are keeping a close eye on Matlaba, while Chabalala has also been linked with Free State Stars, Amakhosi and Chippa United in the past.
Now, it remains to be seen who of the aforementioned players could be making moves away from their current clubs at the end of the season.
