It is well documented that Bongani Zungu and Rulani Mokwena share a close relationship, so it came as no surprise when the Bafana Bafana showed his backing for Orlando Pirates’ new head coach.
Mokwena has been thrust into the limelight following the untimely resignation of Serbian coach, Milutin Sredojevic, just a day before their MTN quarter-final match against Highlands Park.
It was a baptism of fire for the young coach as his Bucs team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Lions of the North.
Despite this, Mokwena has received the backing of Amiens SC midfielder, Bongani Zungu, who he worked with during his time at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Zungu took to Twitter to show his support for the man who he regards as his teacher.
Along with a picture of the 34-year-old belting out instructions, Zungu wrote, “Teacher, I believe in you @coach_rulani”
Mokwena will have another chance to prove that he is the right man for the job when his Pirates charges face off against Amazulu on Tuesday evening.
Do you think that Rulani Mokwena is the right man to lead Pirates this season?
