Following Teko Modise's retirement from football, his former teammate and close friend Siphiwe Tshabalala sent him a heartfelt message in one of his most recent social media posts. Did you see it?
The Cape Town City midfielder recently announced he will retire from the beautiful game, closing a chapter on what was an illustrious career.
Along the way, Teko managed to win the Absa Premiership on two occasions, as well as two MTN8 titles, one Telkom Knockout trophy and a single Nedbank Cup medal.
Continentally, the man known as "The Navigator" also won the much-coveted CAF Champions League trophy with Mamelodi Sundowns, followed by a CAF Super Cup title.
Former national teammate Siphiwe Tshabalala took to his social media pages earlier this week to recall some of his fondest memories with the local football legend.
In part, "Shabba" captioned his post by saying: "I enjoyed playing with you, you were the best and you made things happen. You will always be one of my favourite players I've played with, I want to commend those who gave you the nicknames The Navigator and The General, they deserve a Bell's.
"I'm grateful for having been given an opportunity to play with you and against you. Thank you for the memories. You are a legend. It's sad that your journey as a footballer has come to an end but your legacy will live on. Best wishes on your new chapter and beyond."
