Itumeleng Khune has been linked with a possible pre-contract agreement with Mamelodi Sundowns, with many suspecting that he could arrive at Sundowns next season.
Since the Brazilians threw away their title chances, Khune’s name has continued to be linked with the Tshwane side – rightly so, as he is the best in Mzansi…
I have to ask, would he have been able to prevent Sundowns from falling to the historic 5-0 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday?
Denis Onyango was sent off during that clash for a rash challenge in the box, and this is something Khune is normally able to avoid.
He is particularly cautious over how he treads when it comes into lunging into challenges inside the box, and I am confident that kind of sending off would never have happened to him.
Also, when did you last see Khune concede more than three goals in a fixture, let alone five? He would never let that happen, even if the team was down to 10 men!
It is a shame; Sundowns could’ve delayed the race until when Chiefs arrived at the Lucas Moripe next for a league encounter, but their loss means our boys will look to wrap up the title against Polokwane City this weekend even without Khune.
Itu could’ve perhaps prevented that defeat against Celtic, but the fact of the matter is that Sundowns will not get their hands on our captain! It is Chiefs or Europe for the skipper!
Khosi fans, do you think Khune would’ve prevented such a scoreline for Downs?
