With Mamelodi Sundowns losing out to Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership, many fans have suggested that coach Pitso Mosimane may be feeling the burn and he is under pressure at the club. As a fan myself, I beg to differ on those sentiments simply because I feel Jingles is the perfect man for the job and here’s why.
Firstly, we need to look at the idea of Pitso seemingly being under pressure. In all honesty, pressure will always be there at this level of football but in hindsight we forget that we haven’t witnessed a complete meltdown.
Still competing for second spot and a chance at lifting hte Nedbank Cup trophy, this could end our season off on a lighter note despite losing out on the league.
Is this a sign of Pitso buckling under pressure? I don’t think so.
The man is by far one of the most hardworking coaches in the country and he gets the backing of many of the players who have worked under the former Bafana Bafana coach.
In last week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Teko Modise mentioned that Pitso is one of the best coaches because of his work ethic and desire to always win.
We are lucky in this regard because many top clubs in the country opt to employ European coaches who fail to attach a certain identity to their clubs and fall short more often than not.
This is what Mosimane has done ever so well in the time that he had been in charge at Downs, and football fans easily associate Sundowns with the name Mosimane.
He is what Arsene Wenger is to Arsenal, he is what Sir Alex Ferguson was to Manchester United and this is why I feel he should stay at the club for a very, very long time.
Do you agree?
