In response to Denver Cowzille’s attempt to claim that Bernard Parker will be the man to silence us in the Soweto Derby this afternoon, I feel that it will in fact be Lehlohonolo Majoro who will be the man to win the derby bagging rights.
Cowzille seems to think that they will break our Soweto bones, but we all know that it will be Pirates who will be the man to derail this so-called Chiefs train.
Here is why I feel that the match-winning moment will come from Majoro’s boot.
He Has A Score To Settle With Chiefs
Having left Chiefs little over a year ago, the striker has quite the score to settle with his former club. He left under controversial circumstances, after having been benched a number of times, and he will be certainly be hungry to slay Amakhosi.
He Tends To Shine In Derby Games
For Chiefs, Majoro managed to fine the back of the net against Pirates on two occasions, but he is yet to score a derby goal since he made the switch across to the black and white side of Soweto. Nonetheless, that last bit of information is not really a concern, as Majoro has managed to find the back of the net against Chiefs one occasion - when he was on the books of AmaZulu.
He Is In Better Form Than Parker
Even Denver Cowzille mentioned that Parker hasn’t been in the best shape this season. This is obvious in comparison to Majoro, who has scored a total of eight league goals this season (five more than Parker). With Majoro having found the back of the net so often this season, we can hope that he will continue that form at the FNB Stadium.
Striking Combo More Lethal At Pirates
Most of Kaizer Chiefs’ goals have come from the midfield, whereas at Pirates, the goals have come through the services of Majoro and Erasmus. With 16 league goals between the two of them, the striking combination at Parktown is powerful.
Ghosts, do you think it will be Majoro who decides the derby for Pirates?
