Steve Komphela will have a lot of decision-making to do ahead of next season, and one of the biggest things that may be on his mind is who will partner Erick Mathoho at the back?
The towering defender played alongside Tefu Mashamaite for the majority of the 2014/15 campaign, seeing them form the "Twin Towers" partnership.
However, since "Masha's" exit from the club, Mathoho hasn't had a consistent partner by his side.
Siyanda Xulu didn't live up to expectations after he arrived at the club, forcing Komphela to try out Daniel Cardoso, Morgan Gould, Ivan Bukenya and Lorenzo Gordinho alongside the 26-year-old.
It was the latter who came into his own over the course of the season, seeing him feature in 24 games across all competitions, while Cardoso was limited to a handful of appearances last term.
Khomphela has no reason to look beyond the defender of Portuguese origins, but Ramahlwe Mphahlele adds an extra option in defence now that he has signed for the club.
"Rama's" experience and skills can see him play as a fullback and in the heart of defence, therefore providing stiff competition to Cardoso and the others.
