Sixteen of the country’s top designers have been matched with 16 of the country’s football superfans in an event which will see football and fashion collide.
The superfans were taken from 16 teams that were competing in the 2015 Nedbank Cup and they partnered up with the likes of David Tlale, Gavin Rajah, Anisa Mpungwe and Craig Jacobs.
The mission is to see the superfan and the designer partner up together to form football inspired outfits, which will be featured in the Nedbank Cup Challenge.
Through Nedbank Football Fan Fashion, the fan and designer will go to three fashion schools across the country to tutor fashion design students.
The students will be selected from three of the country’s top fashion institutions: University of Johannesburg (UJ), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Durban University of Technology (DUT).
The 2015 Nedbank Cup Football Fan Fashion Challenge will be judged by an esteemed panel of fashion experts: top stylist Jenny Andrew, Sunday Times social columnist Thembalethu Zulu and media influential Lerato Tshabalala.
