Over the past couple of seasons, Mamelodi Sundowns have had many players join the club and then leave in the blink of an eye. One of the very few who stayed with the Brazilians through thick and thin is Surprise Moriri.
He is considered a Sundowns legend and two of his current teammates, Khama Billiat and Tebogo Langerman, gave fans insight as to what they have learned from the experienced campaigner.
“As a player, I have learned a lot from Surprise. He tells me that if things are not going well, I should just keep working hard. He is always there, encouraging the young players in the team to never give up. He is a good motivator. When he is in the dressing room, he is always talking about winning the game. He hates losing! If you are playing with him, you should know that you will have a great game because he makes everything easy for you on the field of play. I’ve really learned a lot from him."
"Surprise is one of the most experienced players in the team. He has gone through a lot in his playing career, both good and bad. He knows what it takes to be a good player and he always says it is about patience and hard work. He tells the young players that when their time comes, they must use it to the best of their ability. The most important thing he teaches me is to be patient.”
