Once again Kaizer Chiefs set the standard in the Absa Premiership and were crowned league champions last night after an emphatic 4-1 win over Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium.
Looking at it from an Orlando Pirates fans perspective, here are some lessons we can learn from Chiefs' title triumph.
Stick To The Tried And Trusted
This was the blue print coach Stuart Baxter followed throughout the course of the season, as he managed to field a constant starting XI for most of the campaign. It was this type of continuity which got Chiefs into a good groove of consistent performances.
Build A Strong Defence
Tefu Mashamaite, Eric Mathoho, Siboniso Gaxa and Tsepo Masilela were the solid foundation that won Chiefs numerous games this season. We too could look to build our team on a constant and solid defensive line next season.
We Need To Rotate Better
Baxter is an astute man manager and regardless of what team he sets out, they managed to do the job adequately for the most part. Going into the next campaign, we should work on our combinations - whether it’s in defence, midfield or in the striking department. At the end of the day, we want a winning side regardless of which player gets the nod.
