Eric Tinkler could well be the perfect fit as the coach of Orlando Pirates because of the current squad of players having adapted ever so well to his requirements. The results are there for everyone to see and, importantly, the performance levels have improved drastically.
We are beginning to see a side that can score goals and create countless amounts of opportunities in the attacking build. This I have to say could be due to the fact that he has brought the very best out of the players in his attacking deck.
Sifiso Myeni for one looked the average winger under former coach Vladimir Vermezovic. Although not being awfully poor, Myeni just didn’t look like the player the Ghost faithful had come to love.
Ever since Tinkler took over, we saw Myeni grab numerous Man of the Match awards, entertaining fans with his style and guile in the process. It could be down to the point of VV not allowing skilful players like Myeni the freedom to find his own way around the pitch, however, we cannot deny that under Tinkler, the midfielder looks a much better prospect.
Also, for the most part of VV’s reign, the fans could not bear to see the name Lehlohonolo Majoro on the bench. Yes, he may have fallen behind a bit in the early stages of the season due to Kermit Erasmus being on form at the time, but once given the chance, Major showed his class.
Tinkler’s faith in Majoro yielded many fruits as he raised his game with every single minute he earned on the pitch and, as a result, Majoro was called up to the national team yet again.
Having said that, what other players do you think have been flourishing under Tinkler?
