Hello fellow Buccaneers! When Tshepo Gumede was announced as a new signing for the team, fans were anxious to see him turn out for the Buccaneers, however, they will have to wait a little longer.
The 23-year-old defender put pen-to-paper with the Soweto outfit in the final week of the January transfer window, where he was brandished as the best signing the club had made for the 2014/15 season.
His intelligence, calm persona and expertise on the field are held in high regard by management and fans of Pirates, and many have been eager to see how he will slot into the backline.
With the centre-backs Rooi Mahamutsa, Siyabonga Sangweni and Lucky Lekgwathi sitting well above the age of 30, many were looking forward to seeing the youngster bring his energy into the backline.
That will not happen against AmaZulu on Wednesday evening, however, as he is suspended for one match following the four yellow cards he picked up while with Platinum Stars.
This does throw a slight spanner in the works, as Mahamutsa will also be out of the clash, leaving Eric Tinkler having to field a slightly different defensive unit for the match…
With both Gumede and Rooi out, will Tinkler be brave enough to add the veteran, Lekgwathi, into the mix against a young and fast-paced AmaZulu?
Ghosts, who would you choose as your center-back pairing? How much are you looking forward to seeing Gumede play?
