Taking into consideration how we have progressed leading up to the last lap of Premier Soccer League fixtures, we could make the point that there is a possibility of starting the next campaign the way we will end the current one.
Provided we continue to evolve as a team, I have a slight feeling that not many alterations need to be made with regards to signing players or even employing a new coach.
Here are three reasons why I feel that our early season misfortunes have set us up for next season.
We Cultivated The Quality Of Character
The players showed tremendous character in bouncing back on the pitch following the death of Senzo Meyiwa. A loss of this magnitude had the potential to completely break our squad down, but fighting back in the way we did showed the level of mental strength these players have. Going into next season, I am positive that we could withstand any downfall after going through such a horrible period.
Team Chemistry Is High
For the first time in a while we have been playing purposeful, attacking football and need I say we have even shown shades of the form that took us to a double treble. Players are gelling, we are scoring lots of goals and going into next season, we could be even better.
We Have A Secret Weapon
It’s always good to have that one extra special player on your team, that one player you know who could change the game with the click of the fingers. Thabo Rakhale will be a big player for us next season and when given a more important role in the team, there is no doubt the team will benefit from his enigmatic talent.
