Orlando Pirates' good form in 2015 continued, as they scraped past Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-1 in the league on Wednesday night, but who were the best and worst performers on the night?
Our skipper, Oupa Manyisa, opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Thabo Rakhale came off the bench and scored a wonderful goal, while Aces scored a late penalty, which proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
The Three Who Impressed:
Sifiso Myeni - Looked lively down the right flank, managed to take on his marker on a few occasions and picked up the Man of the Match awarded.
Happy Jele - Another consistent showing from our full-back, got forward on a couple occasions to good effect and was solid defensively.
Brighton Mhlongo - Proved to be an impressive showing from the Pirates shot-stopper, who pulled off a couple fine saves, and looks to be getting better every game.
The Three Who Disappointed:
Thabo Matlaba - Hasn't looked like his usual self lately, managed to attack down the left flank on a few occasions but hardly made an impact and committed the foul which led to Aces' penalty.
Lehlohonolo Majoro - Proved to be a poor showing from 'Major', he wasted a number of clear-cut chances in the first half.
Siyabonga Sangweni - Not the best of performances from Siya, looked nervous in the opening exchanges under the high ball and with the set-pieces.
