Orlando Pirates' hopes finishing second took a slight dent, after being held to a 0-0 draw by the University of Pretoria. Do the Buccaneers have what it takes to finish second?
Eric Tinkler decided to go with two strikers upfront, although we seemed to create less opportunities for Lennox Bacela and Lehlohonolo Majoro, who non-existent for most of the game.
There were a few positives, with Tshepo Gumede impressing in the center of the defence, while Khethokwakhe Masuku looked lively on a few occasions.
The Three Who Impressed:
Khethokwakhe Masuku - Given rare start by Eric Tinkler and he was our liveliest player on the night and could have got his name on the score-sheet.
Tshepo Gumede - Looked good for large parts of the game and was comfortable when in possession of the ball.
Thabo Rakhale - Started off slowly in the first half but started having more an impact in the second half down the left flank but his final ball let him down. Proved to be a real threat for the Buccaneers.
The Three Who Disappointed:
Mpho Makola - Was moved to the middle of the park in the absence of Oupa Manyisa, but hardly impressed in the final third.
Lehlohonolo Majoro - 'Major' endured a frustrating evening, hardly any service to work with but his movement was non-existent as well.
Issa Sarr - The Senegalese midfielder didn't have a big impact on the game and was notably poor in the first half.
