Mamelodi Sundowns missed the chance to close the gap on Kaizer Chiefs following their 1-0 loss to Bidvest Wits, but can they still catch up to the league leaders?
It was a poor showing from the defending league champions, who were completely dominated by Wits, much to the surprise of the Sundowns fans.
Although it seemed that Wits had more desire to go for the three points and they clinched the win with a special goal from Sibusiso Vilakazi, who had tormented our defence for large parts of the game.
However, the title race is far from over and hopefully Chiefs will drop points in their next few games.
The Three Who Impressed:
Alje Schut - Proved to be one of Sundowns' better players on the night and did well to contain Henrico Botes
Siyanda Zwane - Looks to be grabbing his opportunity with both hands, with another solid defensive showing.
Ramahlwe Mphahlele - Sundowns were defending for most of the 90 minutes and Mphahlele looked comfortable alongside Schut, although he was easily beaten by Sibusiso Vilakazi for the goal.
The Three Who Disappointed:
Teko Modise - Usually performs in the big games but was completely shut down by Phumlani Ntshangase
Kudakwashe Mahachi - Offered little in attack and was slow to track back and help Mashaba.
Khama Billiat - Sundowns best chance of getting a goal was via the counter attack, but Billiat, along with Mahachi, were very poor in transition.
Who were your best and worst players on the night?
