Kaizer Chiefs moved up to 50 points for the season, following their 1-0 win over Ajax Cape Town but do they have what it takes to claim the three points in the Soweto Derby?
There was a lot of uncertainty before the game, as Bernard Parker was the only recognised striker in the match day squad and he started the game on the bench.
However, Chiefs soldiered on and managed to grind out the victory thanks to a 15th minute strike from Mandla Masango, his sixth goal of the campaign.
With that win, AmaKhosi moved 10 points clear of second place Bidvest Wits and go into this Saturday's clash with Orlando Pirates on a high.
The Three Who Impressed:
Mandla Masango - Proved to be a threat down the flank and also through the middle of the park when he cut in field and popped up with the winning goal.
George Lebese - The winger put in an impressive showing in the Chiefs attack and It was his initial shot that was parried for Masango to score the only goal of the game.
Siboniso Gaxa - Looked composed in the right full back spot, played a part in the winning goal and look solid in defence.
The Three Who Could Do Better:
Matthew Rusike - Although he worked hard in chasing balls, he hardly had any efforts on goal.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane - It was a quiet evening for the Chiefs midfielder, he did not have the desired impact as he does in so many games.
Bernard Parker - Replaced Rusike in the 62nd minute and failed to spark life into the game but hopefully he's saving everything for Saturday's game.
