We don’t often see swap deals in the transfer market, but there have been rumours that we might see a few come the end of the season.
Today, the Fan Park Crew takes a look at a few swap deals that may occur before the transfer window slams shut.
Memphis Depay – PSV and Adnan Januzaj – Manchester United
It’s certainly a deal that would benefit both clubs, as the Dutch side will not need to find a replacement for their top goalscorer. Adnan Januzaj, on the other hand, is a huge talent but has found it tough to get game time at the Red Devils and will certainly get that at PSV.
Gareth Bale – Real Madrid and David De Gea – Manchester United
Manchester United will want to keep David De Gea for as long as possible, but they could be forced to use him as leverage for Garth Bale. The Red Devils had have their eye on Bale for a few seasons now and could be tempted to sell their prized Spaniard.
Theo Walcott – Arsenal and Raheem Sterling – Liverpool
Raheem Sterling could leave Liverpool for Arsenal after stalling on signing a new contract with the Reds. Clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal are very keen on Sterling’s signature, so Wenger could be tempted to offer them Theo Walcott in exchange.
Ilkay Gundogan – Borussia Dortmund and Mario Gotze – Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich are keen to raid Borussia Dortmund yet again next season and we may see Germany playmaker Mario Gotze get offered a surprise return to his old club in a swap deal for Ilkay Gundogan.
Do you think we will see any of these swap deals materialise?
