FC Barcelona attacker Luis Suarez has admitted that his wife was upset with him after he bit Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Uruguayan international received a lengthy ban after the infamous World Cup incident with the Juventus defender, missing four months of his first season at Barca.
Despite believing that the ban he received was harsh, Suarez was probably deserving of the action taken against him as he had bitten a player on the pitch before – twice before, in fact.
The Catalan club forward recently spoke about the incident again, and admitted that it affected his family as he initially lied to his wife about what took place.
"I hurt Sofia because I lied to her," he said, according to Onda Cero.
"She asked me (about biting Chiellini) and I denied it. I had trouble believing it, let alone saying it. I couldn't understand it.
"I hurt her because she knew I wasn't like that."
Do you think Suarez has turned his reputation around yet?
