The release of United's new kit came as a bittersweet moment to many Red Devils fans for a number of reasons, especially given the state of affairs the club find themselves in in recent months.

Many have taken a liking to the new simple yet sleek design. However, certain details on the kit – like the times of the goals from the 1998/99 UEFA Champions League final printed on the sleeves, and the 1999 crest – did not sit well with certain sections of the supporters.
Some felt the fact that the new kit pays homage to the 1998/99 treble-winning season makes no sense given United's current woes and their failure to qualify for next season's edition of the UCL.
