The trio of Mandla Masango, George Lebese and George Maluleka thrilled spectators as they formed arguably the most effective combination in the Premier Soccer League in the first-half of the season.
As the campaign progressed, we began seeing less of the Chiefs trio, this because of coach Stuart Baxter using a number of other combinations.
The rise in form of winger Siphiwe Tshabalala and striker Bernard Parker's return from injury also meant that Baxter had to make a few alterations to the attacking front.
Amakhosi may not have been in the best of form domestically in the last few games, but there is no doubt that in terms of attacking options, Baxter is spoilt for choice.
With the Soweto Derby on the horizon, the Amakhosi technical team now face the conundrum of either going for the tried and trusted duo of Parker and Shabba, or go all-out attack with the MaLeMa trinity.
Let’s not forget that before the derby, Chiefs will do battle against a rather spirited Ajax Cape Town outfit, who got their confidence back in a 2-0 win against Chippa United on Friday. Baxter could well use the tie against Ajax on Wednesday in the league as a warm up session for MaLeMa.
What do you say, should Baxter think about reuniting MaLeMa once again?
