Kaizer Chiefs had a relatively quiet transfer market, but the one man the fans are eager to see in action is Gustavo Paez. But do you know what Siphiwe Tshabalala thinks of him? Let’s take a look!
The Venezuelan arrived at Naturena on deadline day of the January transfer window, and, unsurprisingly, was snapped up as a free agent.
Paez, who has scored just 14 goals in his eight-year career, has left some good first impressions on “Shabba”.
“From training, one can see commitment and that he is willing to do his best for himself and the team. He is together with everyone pushing weight. We are training hard and with intent. I think he will fit well and do well,” the Bafana Bafana man told his official website.
The 26-year-old has already been compared to his fellow countryman Jose Torrealba, who once played for Amakhosi, but what does Tshabalala think?
“Yes, he has similar characteristics of Torrealba but has much different skills. The playing style might be the same but he is his own man and will help us going forward,” he concluded.
Paez could make his debut for Chiefs this evening against Free State Stars. Are you eager to see him in action?
