Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o celebrated his 34th birthday yesterday and the Indomitable Lion thought it would be great to bring you some of his craziest purchases throughout his career.
Eto’o has lived a very lavish lifestyle and is known to spend loads of money, but some of these purchases are just plain crazy.
Eto’o Craziest Purchases:
A Haunted Manor
When Eto’o signed for Sampdoria, he decided to spend R330 million on a manor in the city of Genoa. It’s said that the manor’s original owner, Lord Carnarvon, died in the house along with his nephew. A model who owned the house in 2001 went missing at the time, but all of this doesn’t seem to faze the African.
It’s reported that the three time African player of the year has never put a cellphone in the trash. We are led to believe he has a collection of over 400 cellphones, according to one of his siblings. If you think about it, that’s crazy number - especially after one of his former coaches publically told the press that Eto’o doesn't even know how to send a sms.
In 2009 Eto’o celebrated Cameroon’s qualification for World Cup in South Africa by buying each member of the squad a watch worth R440 000.
We have brought you Samuel Eto’o impressive car collection before, but the big-spending striker went one better recently and bought himself a collector’s edition Ferrari, which cost him R13 million.
A Shiny Jacket
Samuel Eto’o is known for his flashy clothes and unique style of dress, but this jacket takes the cake. He bought crocodile leather jacket, which cost him R812 000, just for a television interview.
