Argentina's men's side won the Five-a-Side World Championship trophy at Century City, Cape Town, with the team beating Bulgaria 2-1 in a tightly-contested final.
In the women's final, the SA team ensured a championship victory on home soil by beating Sweden 5-1, while the SA men's team made it to the play-offs but lost 2-1 to Israel in a nail-biting quarter final.
"The quality of fives football this weekend was exceptional, we would like to congratulate team Argentina and the ladies South African team on their wins," Adam Fine, CEO of Fives Futbol, said.
"A big thank you to all the spectators who came out, filled the stands and showed the world our South African sporting spirit."
It was announced early last week that the Five-a-Side World Championship would be hosted in SA. The biggest amateur football tournament in the world took place at Fives Futbol, Century City, Cape Town.
The championship saw 280 international players from 32 different countries compete over a two-day period.
