The Absa Premiership top goalscorer award, also known as the Lesley Manyathela award is one of the biggest accolades handed out at the end of the season.
The Fan Park crew will now take a look at the last five winners of the Lesley Manyathela award.
2009/10 – Katlego Mphela (Mamelodi Sundowns -17 Goals)
This season saw Killer at his deadliest in a Mamelodi Sundowns jersey as he completed his highest league scoring season ever domestically.
2010/11- Knowledge Musona (Kaizer Chiefs -15 Goals)
The Smiling Assassin announced his arrival on the big stage in stunning fashion as his pace, trickery and finishing captivated many of the Amakhosi faithful.
2011/12- Siyabonga Nomvethe (Moroka Swallows -19 Goals)
Nomvete showed the country that he still had the legs even though he was not getting any younger, and overall he netted an impressive tally of 20 goals in all competitions (19 in the league).
2012/13- Bernard Parker (Kaizer Chiefs -12 Goals)
Hond returned from a short spell in Europe and quickly showed the league how he had improved. With 14 goals scored in all competitions, only a dozen was required to stand head and shoulders above everyone in the league.
2013/14 – Bernard Parker (Kaizer Chiefs -10 Goals)
A bizarre season for every striker in the Absa Premiership as no frontman was able to surpass the 10 goal mark in the league. However, Parker’s very low goal return last season was enough for him to grab the Lesley Manyathela award.
Who do you think will be this season’s top goalscorer?
