It’s every South African player's dream to rightfully earn himself a move abroad and many wait for the right moment to do so. Here are a few players who are perfectly poised for that dream move abroad.
Vila is the talk of the town in local football and has been Bidvest Wits' standout player for the last couple of seasons. Last year, it was reported that he had undergone a trial with Danish giants Brondby IF and now at the age of 25, it seems that a move abroad now would be perfect timing.
Khune, who is 27 years old, may come across as a player too old to make a move to Europe. In goalkeeping terms, however, Itu can only get better going into his early thirties. It remains to be seen what his next move is, and if he could well see the best years of his career in Europe.
Arguably one of the best defenders in the country, Kaizer Chiefs stand a good chance of losing Tower to an overseas based club should European suitors invest in the talented defender. There has already been talk of Mathoho joining fellow countryman Andile Jali in Belgium and we can believe that, as he has been immaculate all season long!
Williams at the age of 23 is a few years younger to that of Khune and has an advantage in the sense that he could be moulded in Europe at such an earlier stage in his career. It was reported last year sometime that he had undergone a training stint with a top German club, however, no such a deal materialised. Now though, should a deal emerge, it would be at the right time in his goalkeeping career.
Do you think these are ripe enough at the moment for Europe?
