After analysing and rating some of the best defenders and midfielders in the Absa Premiership, the Fan Park crew will now rate some of the best goalkeepers in the league in a continuation of this report card feature.
Brilliant Khuzwayo – Kaizer Chiefs
Filling in for the injured Itumeleng Khune was never going to be easy for Khuzwayo, however, he fearlessly took on the responsibility and has not let his club down.
Kennedy Mweene – Mamelodi Sundowns
Downs have been rotating their goalkeeping department this season, with Wayne Sandilands and Dennis Onyango both being utilised. However, with number one Mweene not being able to cement his position between the sticks, he has been pretty average so far in this campaign.
Ronwen Williams – SuperSport United
Before sustaining what was a horrific injury against Wits last year in the league, Williams has been impressive to say the least. He constantly proved that he is indeed one of the best young goalkeepers in the country.
Moeneeb Josephs – Bidvest Wits
Slimkat has been reliable and influential for Gavin Hunt’s charges this season and his experience will be an important factor for Wits in the run-in period.
Brighton Mhlongo –Orlando Pirates
Stepping in for the late Senzo Meyiwa was not only going to be a tough ask, but it would be an emotional one at that. Mhlongo may not have convinced fans that he has what it takes to be the next Senzo, however, he has taken the wheel with some confidence.
