For clubs, the transfer market represents an opportunity to bulk up their squads, but for some, there is a fear that they could lose some of their star players. Here is a list of PSL clubs that could see their star men leave.
Ajax Cape Town – Rivaldo Coetzee
The transfer window is particularly daunting for Ajax Cape Town, who have a low budget when it comes to buying players and often fall victim in having to sell their best men in order to survive. This July transfer window could well see the likes of star man, Rivaldo Coetzee, either move abroad or to a Gauteng-based club.
Kaizer Chiefs – Itumeleng Khune, Tefu Mashamaite & Mandla Masango
This one has been a highly revised topic in the media. With the trio still yet to confirm their futures at the club, the Soweto Giants could very well lose the services of Khune, Tefu and Masango. It is said that Chiefs have offered all three players new deals, but not one player has put pen to paper yet.
Orlando Pirates – Oupa Manyisa
The January transfer market media frenzy was all about Ace. The midfielder’s agent came out and publically announced that Manyisa would sign for Mamelodi Sundowns come January 31, but no deal transpired. Nonetheless, there is still hope for Sundowns to secure the signature of Manyisa come July.
Mamelodi Sundowns – Elias Pelembe
The winger is in a complicated situation with Sundowns after he was left out of the CAF Champions League squad this season, despite an impressive start to the campaign. In 2015, however, Pelembe is yet to turn out for the Brazilians and that has raised concerns about him possibly making way come the conclusion of the campaign.
Bidvest Wits – Sibusiso Vilakazi
This Clever Boy has been linked with various moves over the past few seasons. After having gone to train with Brondby for a week, rumours emerged of him making a move abroad. He has also been linked with Soweto Giants, Kaizer Chiefs. This next transfer window could see many clubs bidding for his signature.
Free State Stars – Moeketsi Sekola
For the majority of the campaign, Sekola has been the leading goal-scorer in the PSL and his impressive run of form has seen him linked to various clubs. Come the end of the season, there are sure to be PSL teams eyeing his services.
