With Real Madrid’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently reaching the 300-goal mark for his club, the Fan Park crew has decided to take a look at a few other names who achieved the tremendous feat.
Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid
The Portuguese winger just recently scored his 300th goal for Los Blancos, writing his name firmly into the club’s history books. He joined Real Madrid in 2009, and has gone on to score 300 goals in 288 appearances.
Lionel Messi – Barcelona
The Argentine has been arguably the best player to ever represent the Catalan club, and since his debut in 2004, Messi has scored 398 goals in 468 games for Barcelona, making him two goals away from the spectacular total of 400.
Gerd Müller – Bayern Munich
The former Germany and Bayern Munich forward was a born and bred goal-scorer, writing his name in the Bavarians' history books. The striker scored a total of 566 goals for Bayern, and 68 goals for his country in just 62 games, which earned him the nickname ‘The Nation’s Bomber’.
Ian Rush – Liverpool
Forget Luis Suarez or Michael Owen, Ian Rush is the best striker that Liverpool have ever had, and that’s a statement that is backed up by his impressive goal tally of 346 goals in 660 games. The Welshman had two spells at Liverpool, playing for the club for 15 years.
Pele – Santos
The legendary Pele will forever be remembered for his goal-scoring records, in a career that saw him score over 1000 goals in total. For Santos, however, Pele scored 643 goals in just 656 games – a tally that reminds us of just how great he was.
Can you name any other players who scored 300 goals or more for a single club?
