Mamelodi Sundowns could be left with a gaping hole at right back if Ramahlwe Mphahlele decides to leave Chloorkop, but several players have already been linked with the position.
The Brazilians, who are yet to sign a player in this transfer window, are said to be directing their focus on the fullback position.
The possibility of "Rama" remaining at the club is growing increasingly unlikely, and it has forced Pitso Mosimane and company to look at other options.
Here are a few players they have been linked with.
The former Ajax Cape Town man has proved to be an asset for German side 1860 Munich, where he has often switched between roles in the midfield and in defence. Claasen, who hasn't played in the country since 2008, would be an interesting coup for Sundowns as he would not only add cover in the right back position but all over the park.
The 28-year-old won't come cheap, but given his eagerness to move away from Belgian side Genk, Ngcongca may welcome the possibility of a return to the PSL. The former Troyes defender is one of Mzansi's most expensive players to date, and has gained some valuable experience during his time in Europe.
While a return to Sundowns may be considered vastly unlikely, there is no doubt Gaxa has the experience and the knowledge of the club to fill in at right back for at least one season.
With one Katlego Mashego set to leave Sundowns at the end of the month, another may arrive. The 29-year-old has been tipped to leave Free State Stars and could very well be a good option for "Jingles" in the right back position.
Who would you like to see brought in to replace Rama?
