With Real Madrid’s recent slump in form, it was always expected that Carlo Ancelotti’s position as head coach was going to be questioned – and we say yes to those asking them. There’s no excuses for the Italian and it may be time for Los Blancos to look elsewhere.
Real are just one point behind Barcelona, but it just doesn’t seem likely that the Spanish giants will catch the Catalan club, as they travel to Camp Nou on the weekend – a I see the result only going one way.
Here are the reasons why I firmly believe that Ancelotti needs to walk the plank.
Ancelotti Is Afraid To Drop His ‘Big Guns’
If this season's La Liga campaign was a soap opera, the Santiago Bernabeu would be centre stage. There has been all sorts of talk with regards to players falling out with one another, and it’s hard to label them as just rumours. By now, he should have dropped Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, but he is too afraid of how the players may react. It’s ridiculous. Both players have become bigger than the club, with neither one of them being benched while in the middle of horrendous form. Bale went nine games without a goal and was still always picked.
He Is Scared To Criticise Players
After every poor showing by Real Madrid, Ancelotti apologises and takes all the blame. Why? He is not the one the field who is failing to create chances and find the net - it’s his players. Real need a coach who will openly speak about when they played poorly, and put the blame on his players, as this tactic may help and bring out a positive response in the players. For example, when did Alex Ferguson ever take the blame at Manchester United? He wouldn’t have been caught dead doing that. The tougher you are, the more you get from your players!
He Wouldn’t Be Missed
Let’s be honest, would you even notice if he was on Real Madrid’s bench or not? Hardly. He doesn’t have that presence that puts fear in opposition's minds. Yes, he has experience, and he has won trophies, but I’d be much more afraid of somebody like Fernando Hierro - somebody who played for the club and fully understands the tradition.
Do you believe that the Italian coach should be sacked?
