Manchester City and Barcelona face each other yet again this evening in another crucial UEFA Champions League tie.
So to build us up to the fiery encounter The Citizen thought it would be great to select his combined XI if he had the choice of selecting players from both squads.
Here is the combined XI playing in 4-3-3 formation:
Goalkeeper – Joe Hart
With Barcelona not having a fixed number one, it seems only right to pick the England number one in goals.
Right-Back – Pablo Zabaleta
Zabaleta is probably one of the top five right-backs in the world and is wonderful in attack and defence.
Centre-Back – Vincent Kompany
The Belgian might be having a little bit of an off season, but when on form he consistent and solid.
Centre-Back – Gerrard Pique
Many have different views about Pique, but he is Barcelona’s best defender and deserves his spot in the team.
Left-Back – Jordi Alba
Alba is a massive attacking threat down that left hand side and is now more influential to his side than Dani Alves.
Centre- Midfield – Javier Mascherano
Mascherano is one of world's most underrated defensive midfielders, who has even enjoyed success playing as a centre-back for Barca. Here we pick him in his preferred position.
Centre- Midfield – Yaya Toure
The African Player of the Year is City’s engine and we have seen his side struggle when his not on the park.
Centre- Midfield – Ivan Rakitic
With Xavi having a season to forget, Ivan Rakitic has been pulling the strings and has done good job so far.
Right Winger – Lionel Messi
Probably the easiest choice in this side, Messi is undoubtedly one of the top two players in the world and we don’t really need to justify his selection.
Left Winger – Neymar
The Brazilian captain has come into his own this year and has linked up beautifully with Lionel Messi at Barcelona. He can score goals and assist which is why he makes the grade.
Striker – Sergio Aguero
It was between Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero for the top spot, but on current form, Aguero beats the former Liverpool man - who has struggled for goals in La Liga this season.
How would your combined XI look like?
