Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kermit Erasmus are both in contention to finish as the top scorer for the club this season, as they have both netted 10 goals this season - but have they hit a drought of late?
The duo, who have flashed hot and cold all season, have managed to echo each other’s form dramatically this season… When Majoro was firing, so was Kermit, and when KE95’s goals slowed down, so did Major’s.
You have to go back seven games in all competitions to see Erasmus' last goal for Pirates, where he found the back of the net in a 1-1 draw with Free State Stars on March 4.
Meanwhile, you have to track back a total of 11 matches, or exactly two months, until you can find a highlight reel of Majoro last scoring.
The former Kaizer Chiefs striker’s last goal game on February 14 in a 2-0 win against Platinum Stars. A far cry from the run he went on of eight goals in eight games earlier this season.
It seems shocking that all 10 goals converted by each of these strikers happened before the second week of March, meaning other players have had to step up for the occasion.
With the two seemingly Eric Tinkler’s preferred strikers, he will be hoping that they can end the drought against Bidvest Wits this evening!
Do you think they can find form again before the end of the season?
