The brand Lexus has appealed to a few of the PSL’s mainstays. The high-profile players who drive the luxury sedan have been in the PSL for close to 9 years or longer.
Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele who recently celebrated 12 years at the club, having made his debut in the 06/07 season is one of the custodians of a luxury Lexus. The 32-year-old sports a silver Lexus.
Former Kaizer Chiefs fan favourite, Siphiwe Tshabalala is another who has a Lexus added to his impressive fleet of luxury vehicles. The dreadlocked winger spent 11 years at Amakhosi before making his way to Turkey in 2018 where he currently plies his trade for Erzurumspor.
A firm contender for player of the season is Mamelodi Sundowns’ ace, Themba Zwane. ‘Mshishi’ is another player who opted for the Lexus brand when choosing his vehicle. The 29-year old joined Sundowns in 2011 from Vodacom League side FC Vardos.
Although they vary in shapes and sizes, the starting price for a Lexus is around R112 000 with the most expensive model believed to be in the region of R3 million.
