It's nearly derby time again with our boys eager to face off against Tshwane rivals SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership tomorrow night.
Matsatsantsa always come to the party against us, and with second place and the Nedbank Cup in the back of the players’ minds, it could cook up to be yet another fiery encounter.
Hlompho Kekana, who is a robust hard-man, will no doubt be looking forward to the encounter and said that the game against SSU promises to produce fireworks.
“Both these clubs are obsessed with success and you can tell by the number of times the league has been won between them,” he said on the club’s official website.
“Another exciting thing about this particular match is that both coaches are tactically sound, but that doesn’t mean boring because a win will be important for either side."
Having played for both clubs, Kekana says there is always a reason for players to bring their A-game in the Tshwane derby.
“I have played for both teams and the motivation for players to do well is always there on either side no matter the occasion," he continued.
“This is one match that promises a lot of fireworks, not just because there’s bragging rights at stake but because history doesn’t lie. Whenever these two sides have met, there have been goals, end-to-end action and drama”
Reflecting on Kekana’s insights, will SSU prove to be too much for us in the derby, seeing that we are juggling between two competitions this late on in the season?
