Mamelodi Sundowns’ captain Hlompho Kekana, has taken to Instagram to voice his opinion on the state of officiating in the country, and speaks out on that offside.
Kekana and his teammates were embroiled in widespread debate regarding Kaizer Chiefs’ opening goal scored against them in their 2-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.
Kekana made reference to three images on his story. The first being a narrow offside call made in the EPL that was ruled out by VAR.
“It’s gonna be difficult to explain to my son that this is offside and and and,” he wrote.
He then posted images of their match against Kaizer Chiefs as well as Orlando Pirates’ controversial goal against Highlands Park on Tuesday evening, highlighting the poor state of officiating in the PSL.
SAFA have subsequently provided clarity on the matter, stating that Leonardo Castro had not touched the ball as initially suspected.
