Good morning Khosi fans. Following some disappointing results in recent times, it has perhaps become evident that Kaizer Chiefs lack a serial match-winner.
The Amakhosi started the campaign like a house on fire, going the whole first round of the league unbeaten. However, since the turn of the year, Chiefs have endured two league defeats…
They are desperate for anyone of their players, especially strikers, to step up and help arrest the team's steady decline. Something has to give….
Chiefs' problem of late has indeed been a goalscoring one, which somehow seems to be compounded by the departure of the much-maligned striker, Kingston Nkhatha, to SuperSport United.
But over and above a striker who hassles and distracts defences, a prolific goalscorer in the mold of Knowledge Musona is sorely needed in this Chiefs side. This is where rival clubs like Sundowns and Pirates hold the advantage with match-winners like Cuthbert Malajila and Kermit Erasmus on their books.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys have a decent striking department on paper, but most are haunted by inconsistency. Katlego Mphela in his prime was a bona fide match-winner, but injuries have taken their toll on his aging body, leaving him with very little to offer the team going forward.
New striker David Zulu is yet to settle into life at Naturena, while Siphelele Mthembu’s second stint at Chiefs is yet to yield many goals on his part.
Not to mention the struggling form of Bernard Parker, who is yet to get off the mark for Chiefs in 2015…
Do you agree that Amakhosi does not have a match-winner in their team?
